Chimney Leak Repair
Better service. No nonsense.
Over time, your chimney deteriorates after years of high heat inside and exposure to the outside elements, such as rain, snow, wind, and more. Water is the #1 enemy to your chimney.
A leak in your chimney can cause big problems to your roof, framing, and ultimately your ceiling too if not dealt with soon enough.
Protecting your chimney from leaks can be a grueling task as your chimney is exposed to all of the elements. Constant freezing and thawing put stress that can lead to cracking, leaks and structural damage.
There are several causes of a leaky chimney, including:
A Weak Flashing:
Flashing is the sheet metal that closes the gap between the roof and your chimney. To further protect your home from water, an adhesive — most often tar or a caulking material — connects the flashing to the roof and chimney creating a watertight seal. But that seal over time can become weak, causing leaks into your home.
Water coming in from the top of the chimney:
Heavy rain and snow can find its way through the tiny opening at the top of your chimney. To prevent this water from flowing down your chimney and into your fireplace, install a chimney cap that will not only keep water out, but also animals and leaves — both of which can cause unpleasant odors in your home.
A cracked chimney crown:
A chimney crown is the area at the top of your chimney that closes the space between your brick chimney and flue liner. Chimney crowns are designed specifically to keep rain out of your home, but a crack in the crown is ineffective and will allow water to seep through.
Cracks in your chimney’s brick and mortar joints:
Over time, the mortar and brick of your chimney can crack, and water can leak into your home. Depending on the severity of the cracks, a simple, specialty brick sealant might be all that’s needed. However, if the chimney is badly damaged, masonry repair likely will be needed to alleviate any leaks.
Patriot Chimney can fortify your chimney to protect it from any of these damages. This preventative approach can save you from having to replace large portions of your chimney.

Our Full Cycle Process
Our process is built out of, and rooted in, our approach to leaky chimneys. You may be interested in how things work after you schedule work with us. We’ve broken it down into five steps.
So, here’s how we do things:
Step 1: Learn
Before we start to work on your chimney, even before the inspection, we talk with you. This way your project manager can understand all of problems that you might be having.
Step 2: Discovery
Once we’ve heard from you and listened to your concerns, we begin our investigation. Depending on the problems that you face, this could be a level 1, a level 2, or a level 3 inspection. Either way, we run a camera through your flue so that we can get a top-to-bottom, inside-out understanding of what’s happening with your chimney.
Step 3: Discuss:
At every move and every discovery, we want you to understand what is happening with your chimney. No surprises. Your project manager will explain all discoveries and action items you’ll want to address.
Step 4: Improve
Once we’ve discovered what’s causing your chimney to leak and your project manager discusses the action items with you, we schedule a time to work on your chimney to correct the problems you’ve been facing. Your project manager will help you and guide you through the work. We know that any home improvement projects, no matter how minor, can cause undue stress. So we want to limit that as much as possible.
Step 5: Support
Once we’re done, our customer service team works to make sure you are happy with the work. We take our 100% customer satisfaction seriously and want you to be satisfied with our work for years to come. Any quesions that you have, you can feel free to call your project manager or our office and we’re always going to be happy to serve you as your go-to chimney experts.
We understand that prices to fix a leaky chimney can be a headache all on it’s own. It can be complicated. That’s why Patriot Chimney’s pricing for leaky chimney services is pretty straightforward. We charge a flat rate that varies depending on the material, measurements, and a few other factors. You don’t have to worry about hidden costs when you work with us.
